What our house stands for?
well...
we are a kind of an assosiation and we do have board of direktors who do all the administration.
we have ca. 60 roomies in 11 living-communities and a kindergarten has it's rooms in our house.
first, we have a "selbstverständniss" something like a codex. In it are our rules under which we want to live together. I'll try to translate it:
1.
We want a parity of men and women and people with and without a german passport. Our policy is that we do not tolerate any kind of rassit, sexist, fascist behavior. Because of that we have the demand of a parity of men women and also of "german" and "foreign" students. The same goes for the board of direktors to. An occupancy alone garantees not a space that is free of discrimination, for that reason we expect all roomies to be self-reflexive and to stick to the policy, to enable a united and alternativ place to live.
2. Self administrationAll decisions that are relevant for the house will be decided together on a plenum
the board of directors do the daily administration
the living-communitie decides thier stuff autonomic
3. collectiveEvery roomie is asked to be part in the project and to take responsibility in the house.
Everyone shall be involved in some groups like:
the house spanning decission making process.
work in the house committees
PR Work
cleaning and restorating the house
caretaking of the house
organisation of the summerfestival
organisation of the workshop
organisation of the library
organisation of the pub
cooperation projekts with the kindergarten (we have one in the house)
documentation of the history of the house
Everyone can choose what to do.
4. Consideration of personal circumstances5. Conflicts shall be solved in a constructive and solidary wayIf it's not possible that the living-communities solve the conflicts on their own, can a roomie from a diffrent communitie be asked to settle the dispute.
the house spanning decission are settel on the plenum.
6. The Bettenhaus ist an open space for creativityeveryone can design their rooms as wished. the common rooms can be designed as wished to. for art projects we have creativ-rooms in the basement.
7. Political groups and cutural groups can use the house as a venueGroups can ask the plemun, if they can use the common rooms in the basement.
