I've just noticed, Haopel signed Ben Sahar on a loan from Espanyol. I do not know much about him, but he is sad to be a great talent.

I've checked him on Wiki and I saw with suprise, he played already for six (6!) big European teams. Including Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday and at last, Espanyol.

Now he is back at Hapoel.

What do you guys expect from him? Do you think he will finally have his breakthrough and become a constant player? Does Haopel have a option to buy him, or is he just on loan and has to return later?

Like you said, he's marked as a hot prospect for the future, and after Espanyol manager told him that he's not in his plans for the next season he started the negotiations with Hapoel, and after long discussions joined for 1 year loan.
He's considered a huge boost to the team and can help us with his good head game, speed and strength.
He's also part of the Israeli National Team and scored already a few goals in the last Euro/WC Qualifier.
And about the loan/purchase:
Sahar already declared that he will only move to Hapoel on loan, and not on purchase. That's because he wishes to return to Espanyol next season.

So Sahar sees the whole thing a little bit like a the chance to get back in practice? After almost not playing for Espanyol.

Does someone know why he didn't make it so far in the European teams?

basically he didnt have the luck everyone needs.
he went to chelsea, and this is ofcourse a club in which its very diffucult for a young youth player to break through the 1st team.
he got loaned out from chelsea to 2 1st division clubs and to premier side portsmouth, plus dutch team de
grapshgap or however its spelled, so he didnt have no stability whatsoever.
not his fault or nothing, but that doesnt stop all the know alls in the media here keep repeating "a 20 year old player that played in so many clubs, indicates a problem", even though he was loaned out, and not kicked out or had his contract terminated or whatever.

espanol is basically his 2nd team, and its true he did not do so well there, but still, its the spanish 1st division.

im not sure anyone really knows excactly what to excpect, mostly cuz it will be his real first season in a football team, playingwise.

potentially hes an awesome player, in practice? i think hes good enough for the israeli league.
